A Fourth Proposal by The Lifetime Student Foundation:
The Creation of an American Professional Track & Field League
It has come to the attention of The Lifetime Student Foundation, that there is no such thing as a Professional Track League. Once a Track and Field Athlete is done with college, if they don't qualify for the Olympics then their careers are about over with. Other than specialty track meets and marathons, there is no place for athletes to further showcase their skills and compete.
With the formation of An American Professional Track & Field League:
1. College students would have the option to graduate college and be drafted by a professional track team.
2. Former Track and Field Athletes can now try out and compete for a spot on a professional track and field team roster.
3. The creation of a Professional track & Field League would create many job opportunities as well as raise the level of performance for most track filed athletes who will now be performing for contracts & endorsements.
4. Kids may one day have the option to be drafted by a pro track & field team before or after graduating college, solely based on there performance times and skill.
5. Athletes will go hard for that contract, heightened expectations by athletes will lead to world records being broken at almost every Pro Track and Field Match.
6. An Association or league will be established with a full staff, Coaching, Training, Facility & Team Management, Spokespeople, The enactment of a college track & Field draft, Media Coverage, Endorsements and Marketing are some of the jobs to be filled with the creation of An American Professional Track & Field League.
7. Stadiums already built in some cities can now be used for Track & field purposes or Pro Track stadiums can be built.
8. An American Professional Track & Field League for both Men & Women.
At just about every college in America, no matter how big or small, no matter what division, there is a Track & Field Team. Which means there are enough athletes being farmed every year to keep a competitive roster every year. It would be something special to see, Carl Lewis, Jackie Joyner Kersee, Ben Johnson or Bob Kersee, commentating or being a spokespersons for the sport.
The events we have in mind just to begin with are:
1. Runners - 100, 200, 400, 800
2. Jumpers - High Jump, Long Jump. Triple Jump, Pole Vault
3. Throwers - Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, Hammer Throw
4. Specialty - Relays, Hurdles
5. Other Events are optional
(That's 14 events at An American Pro Track & Field Match.)
